MAP Stories: Salvation in South Asia

by Gloria Tillman on March 30, 2022 in News

Missionary Adoption Program (MAP) Missionary, *Arthur, serves in South Asia and had a divine appointment on a hill near his village.

Arthur and another brother in Christ visited *Martin, a 95-year-old man. Martin has lived his entire life as a nomadic shepherd in the hills of South Asia. Martin listened closely to the message of the gospel. After hearing about the prophets telling of a coming Messiah, he interrupted and mentioned Jesus' name! He had already heard of The Messiah, but not the gospel. After hearing the good news, Martin was immediately ready to believe. He prayed to receive forgiveness of sins in the name of Jesus.

After 95 years of waiting to hear the message of salvation, Martin was ready to believe as soon as he heard the truth. Later, he listened to a Scripture audio recording, which brought him to tears. He was so happy to listen to the Word of God in his mother tongue.

Plans are being made to visit Martin, his family, and many others in his people group for evangelism and follow-up visits. God is reaching far into the remote places of the world to save people like Martin through the Missionary Adoption Program. Please continue to pray for people like him, who are ready to believe but have no one to tell them the way to salvation.
