MAP stories: Sharing the Gospel in Spain

by Guest Author on January 28, 2021 in MAP Stories

Luiguii Olortegui Roca is a Missionary Adoption Program (MAP) missionary serving in the Roses region of Spain, an area on the coast and near the French border. There, he has established Església Evangèlica Baptista de Roses, a small church aimed at reaching the community for Christ. Below is a short update about their ministry:

We have closed the end of the year by thanking the Lord for His faithfulness and goodness.

As a church we have carried out the "Shalom" project, which is an initiative to help the neediest families in our municipality in Roses. Our church collected around 20 baskets that were distributed to different families in collaboration with a local foundation.

We have been able to meet Julio, a young man who together with his family are from Brazil. We regularly help them with food since it is difficult for them to improve their work situation. Together with Julio, there are two brothers and his mother who are in the same situation. We have been able to spend time with all of them. However, there is something special about Julio, as he is coming to Church and learning more about the Lord. For us, it is a joy to see how God can transform his life. Although we still do not know what will come in the future for him, it is a joy as a church to accompany him in this time of affirmation of Christ in his life.

Roca and his family are supported by Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston. If you would like to learn more about the Missionary Adoption Program, our missionaries or ways that you can help please contact us at missionaryadoptionprogram[at]txb.org or go to txb.org/map.
