Statement regarding racist letters sent to Texas Baptist pastors

by Texas Baptists Communications on February 3, 2021 in Statements

We are stricken by the racist attacks recently directed at two of our Texas Baptist pastors. Racism of any kind has no place in God’s Kingdom. As image bearers of God and followers of His son Jesus, we are called to love one another and not hate, heal and not harm, unify and not divide. We denounce and repudiate every form of racism, and seek reconciliation and unity in Christ. To that end, Texas Baptist pastors and leaders will continue to foster relationships and opportunities to listen, learn, plan and take collaborative action towards bridging racial divides. We will continue to do more together than we can apart, while celebrating our God-given diversity.
