“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1 NIV)
What a gift it is to enjoy fellowship with others in the church family! What a joy it is to spend time together with fellow church leaders from sister churches. What a reflection of God’s love it is when churches come together to worship, fellowship and cooperate for God’s mission.
We are excited about our Texas Baptists Annual Meeting in Abilene, Nov. 6-8. Our first general session will be Monday night. We will have inspiring worship, excellent speakers, relevant breakouts and plenty of opportunities for fellowship. I hope you plan to join us.
Additionally, we will be cohosting the Southern Baptist Convention’s Annual Meeting in Dallas, June 6-8. We are partnering with the North American Mission Board and the Dallas Baptist Association for the Crossover Dallas event. Texas Baptists churches can participate in evangelism and outreach events the weekend before the SBC Annual Meeting.
Approximately one-half of Texas Baptists churches contribute financially to the work of the Southern Baptist Convention through the BGCT. We would like to connect with Texas Baptists who attend the annual meeting of the SBC in Dallas.
Please come by our exhibit area, which will be at the entrance to the exhibit hall. We would love to visit with you, hear what God is doing in your church and share what God is doing through our convention.
We are also hosting a dinner for ministers and spouses on Monday, June 9, at Edison’s in Dallas. We welcome pastors and ministerial staff, along with their spouses. Space is limited, so we ask that each person register using the link above.
The purpose of the dinner is to network and fellowship and to share an update on the direction of the BGCT. The food will be good. There will be worship. And connecting with one another will be sweet (Psalm 133:1).
Speaking of fellowship, I want to remind you that there are still spots at our annual Texas Baptists Golf Classic. This year we are in four different locations: Dallas area (Lantana), Houston area (Cypress), San Antonio and Lubbock.
This fellowship opportunity on the golf course is for anyone in our Texas Baptists family. It is also a good way for you to connect with someone who is exploring joining the Texas Baptists family. I hope to see you at one of these. You may register using the link above.
There is much gospel work to do. God’s mission demands the best of us. Fellowship, “hanging out” together in unity and harmony, is one of God’s gifts to encourage us in the Great Commandment and Great Commission task. So let’s seize the opportunities, y’all!
