Work Begins

This morning, we started off the week with GO TIME: an opportunity to commission the BOUNCERS with prayer. We asked the Lord to move this week as students are actively serving Him and reflecting His love to the community around them. All the BOUNCERS met in the parking lot and were prayed over, then the six teams headed out to begin their day. Each morning, as the teams arrive on their worksites, a student selected as Team Chaplain will lead a devotional that allows students to be in God’s Word first thing. This helps the participants remember why they are here and learn from scripture before they begin their work.

BOUNCERS started off the week on their sites today. They are always encouraged to drink water to stay hydrated and safe. Lunches are provided to them daily by local churches in the Mineral Wells area, and we are thankful to them for partnering with us!

In worship, we heard about Go Now Missions during our Mission Moment. Go Now is a sending agency of Texas Baptists that gives college students around Texas the chance to go on mission all over the world over summer and winter breaks. We talked to students about considering the possibility that God could call them to devote some of their time to missions before they graduate college or start their careers. Even though they are young, it is not too early to begin thinking about ways to be on mission. If a person follows Christ, they are called to share Christ and make disciples wherever they are; some will be called to go other places, outside of their comfort zone, for the sake of the gospel.

Texas Baptists is a movement of God’s people to share Christ and show love by strengthening churches and ministers, engaging culture and connecting the nations to Jesus.

The ministry of the convention is made possible by giving through the Texas Baptists Cooperative Program, Mary Hill Davis Offering® for Texas Missions, Texas Baptists Worldwide and Texas Baptist Missions Foundation. Thank you for your faithful and generous support.
