Worship Empowers Bouncers for a Purpose

Bouncers have made tremendous progress at their work sites in Nederland and Port Arthur this week! Today students and Bounce volunteers worked through rain to complete the roofs at their work sites. Students and Bounce volunteers have experienced humidity, heat, and rain, and through it all they have maintained a great attitude and are now close to completion at their work sites!

After dinner in the evening, Bouncers gather together for a time of worship. Students have been both encouraged and challenged during worship. This is a time for students to be restored spiritually as they connect to God through singing and prayer. Students and Youth Leaders were able to participate in Concert of Prayer, where students prayed through the A.C.T.S. model. There was a prayer time for Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication. Students sought the Lord through prayer by praising Him for His greatness and holiness, by being honest to Him about the sin in their life, by thanking him for the many blessings He has bestowed upon them, and by presenting specific, personal prayer requests. Students prayed in groups and then Youth Leaders had the opportunity to pray over each one of their students specifically. This was a powerful time and a beautiful display of the Youth Leaders love for their students. Youth groups have truly come together during these intimate times of worship to deepen their relationships with one another, and to deepen their relationship with the Lord.

During worship Aaron Austin, the Worship Speaker, has led the students in a time of teaching. Aaron has taught over Acts 1:8 and has repeatedly reminded the students that the Holy Spirit empowers believers for a purpose. That purpose is to be witnesses for Christ who are ready to share the gospel and serve their neighbor in love at anytime and in any place.

"Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it." 1 Peter 3:15
