In Salt Lake City a Hispanic church plant is changing the lives of people across the city. Luis and Beatriz Soto, North American Mission Board (NAMB) missionaries, planted the church, Rock of the Centuries Baptist Church, in the West Valley section of the city. Their goal is to reach Hispanics for Christ.
Salt Lake City is the capital of Utah, a primarily Mormon state. It is estimated that 98% of the people there are lost and without Christ. The Sotos established their church in the heart of the city, halfway between the Utah State Capitol building and the airport, to best reach the residents of the city.
Luis looks for members of Rock of the Centuries who are strong in their faith to send to other local communities to plant churches. Many of the congregants work two or more jobs to make ends meet, so those who tackle such ministries are truly committed to sharing the Gospel.
Our church supports the Sotos and their work in Salt Lake City, as well as other NAMB missionaries, when we give through the Cooperative Program. Let’s pray for the Soto’s ministry and that their church may be strengthened as they send people out to plant new ones.

En Salt Lake City una iglesia hispana está cambiando las vidas de personas por toda la ciudad. Luis y Beatriz Soto, misioneros de la Junta de Misiones Norteamericanas (NAMB), plantaron la iglesia, Iglesia Bautista Roca de los Siglos, en la sección del Valle del Oeste de la ciudad. Su meta es alcanzar a los hispanos para Cristo.
Salt Lake City es la capital de Utah, un estado principalmente mormón. Se estima que el 98% de las personas allí están perdidas y sin Cristo. Los Soto establecieron su iglesia en el centro de la ciudad, a medio camino entre el edificio del capitolio del estado de Utah y el aeropuerto, para alcanzar mejor a los residentes de la ciudad.
Luis busca miembros de Roca de los Siglos que son fuertes en la fe para enviarlos a otras comunidades locales a plantar iglesias. Muchos de los miembros trabajan dos o tres trabajos para cubrir sus gastos, por lo que los que participan en tales ministerios verdaderamente están comprometidos con compartir el evangelio.
Nuestra iglesia sostiene a los Soto y su obra en Salt Lake City, así como otros misioneros de la Junta de Misiones Norteamericanas, cuando ofrendamos por medio del Programa Cooperativo. Oremos por el ministerio de los Soto y porque su iglesia pueda ser fortalecida al enviar a personas a plantar iglesias nuevas.
