This year at Annual Meeting, some of the voting will likely be conducted using SMS/text messaging services for real-time votes and to streamline the business process. Each messenger registered by a church will need to provide a unique mobile phone number in order to vote on these motions. Your church will need to obtain verbal consent from each messenger to receive text messages from Texas Baptists.
More information coming soon on how to share this information with your church messengers.
Please be mindful that messengers who opt out of receiving SMS/text messages will not be able to vote during the business sessions on motions requiring an electronic vote as a ballot vote.
The Texas Baptists Annual Meeting is made up of the messengers sent on behalf of churches. Guests may also register, but will not be able to vote during business sessions.
Pre-register by Sunday, November 15, at 8 PM. Messengers will receive a QR code via email. Bring the QR code on phone or printed out to the registration table at Annual Meeting.
Mail the Messenger Request Card that has been sent to your church by Friday, October 30. Receive messenger cards in the mail and distribute to your church members. Bring your signed messenger cards and ID to the credentials table at Annual Meeting.
