Inflation Relief Grants available for Texas Baptists Pastors

The Texas Baptists Financial Health Team is pleased to announce that Inflation Relief Grants are now available to pastors impacted by the recent increase in costs of gas, utilities, groceries and other necessities.

For pastors already living on a tight budget and still recovering from the economic impacts of Covid-19, inflation can make an already challenging season even more difficult. It is Texas Baptists’ hope that this grant will relieve some of that stress so that pastors can focus on ministering to their congregation.

"Helping our pastors stay strong spiritually, emotionally, financially, and in all ways remains a high priority for Texas Baptists,” Treasurer/CFO Ward Hayes explained. “That we are able to offer this grant at this time is a tremendous blessing."

To be eligible, pastors must be serving at a Texas Baptists affiliated church that has contributed to the Texas Baptists Cooperative Program within the last year. Priority consideration will be given to senior pastors who have completed at least one year of service in their current ministry context.

Recipients will receive up to $500 in a one-time grant.

These grants are made possible through a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment as part of its national Economic Challenges Facing Pastoral Leaders Initiative.

The Financial Health Team is part of the Texas Baptists Center for Ministerial Health.
