Associate Director, Communications

The Associate Director of the Communications Department manages day-to-day operations of the News and Media, Design and Print, Web, and Marketing Teams for the purpose of fulfilling the department’s objectives as set forth by the Director. Responsibilities include aspects of administration, personnel oversight, project management, workflow, and other daily work as assigned by the Director. The Associate Director works closely with the Director to implement the Director’s vision and direction for the department, manages projects, and tasks out assignments initiated by the Director. The Associate Director will also provide leadership for the department on behalf of the Director when the Director is away from the office.

Responsible for greeting and supporting visitors and guests to BGCT, maintaining flow of office activities by answering phone, receiving and relaying messages, and supervising public areas. This position will also provide administrative support to the Director of Information Technology.

The Consultant establishes trusted advisor relationships with Western Heritage church leaders; and connects them to resources, one another, institutions, and other organizations as appropriate; and assists and guides the starting of Western Heritage churches.

News Writer

Assist in managing the convention’s strategy in telling the stories of what Texas Baptists are doing around the state and world. Direct ministry teams in telling their stories effectively through various avenues and producing content for those ministries. Provide direction to the story telling, newsgathering and dissemination of Convention news, using both print and electronic media.

Single and Young Adult Ministry Specialist

The Single and Young Adult Ministry Specialist is a member of the Discipleship Team, and is responsible for planning, conducting, and evaluating strategies to assist churches in their Single Adult and Young Adult Ministries. This includes, but is not limited to, the program areas of Sunday School, discipleship, and ministry calling.
