Kris Knippa joins Texas Baptist Missions Foundation as new vice president

The Texas Baptist Missions Foundation (TBMF) welcomed Kris Knippa as a new vice president. Knippa transitioned from his prior position with Texas Baptists as Area 1 representative. He began serving with TBMF on Sept. 1. 

“I am thankful to connect members and churches of West Texas to the opportunity to build a legacy of financial generosity to the ongoing work of Jesus,” Knippa said. 

Prior to his time at Texas Baptists, Knippa gained ministry experience by pastoring in Hale Center, Lorenzo, Earth and Cranfills Gap. He was also a member of the Truett Preaching Excellence Cohort and served on the Texas Baptists Committee to Nominate BGCT Executive Board of Directors. 

Knippa earned the Bachelor of Arts in Education from Wayland Baptist University. After completing two years of Master of Divinity studies at Truett Seminary at Baylor University, he transferred back to Wayland to complete and earn a Master of Christian Ministry while serving in a pastorate in West Texas. He earned his Doctor of Ministry from Logsdon Seminary at Hardin-Simmons University.

Jerry Carlisle, TBMF president, said Knippa exemplifies a spirit of generosity, which is evident by the relationships he has cultivated with pastors and churches in West Texas. He said having Knippa based in Plainview will be a tremendous benefit to TBMF’s work, as he joins TBMF vice presidents Eric Wyatt (based in Waco) and Scott Stevens (based in the Houston area) in striving to serve all of Texas.
