Texas Baptist Mission Foundation celebrates 40 years of generosity

The Texas Baptist Missions Foundation (TBMF) celebrated 40 years of generosity in 2025. In ongoing celebration, TBMF has compiled a book that shares the history of the foundation’s work and stories of donors.

TBMF President Jerry Carlisle said former Texas Baptists Executive Director Bill Pinson believed that celebrating the 40th anniversary of TBMF would be enhanced by documenting its history.

“I loved the idea and a lead gift from an anonymous donor made the project possible,” said Carlisle. “Generous donors are the heroes of the story. Their faithful responses to God’s invitation to generosity are what we are celebrating; the Missions Foundation simply works to connect individual Texas Baptists with God’s mission through giving.”

TBMF Vice President Scott Stevens conducted research and wrote the book. He shared that 100 hardback copies of the book are being distributed to special friends of TBMF, whose testimonies are included in the book. He also noted that a smaller gift booklet, titled Stories of Generosity, containing 21 of the testimonies included in the full-length book, has been printed.

Carlisle said TBMF staff share these booklets with donors and potential donors.

A free digital version of the book is available on the GC2 Press website. You can download it here. To learn more about TBMF or to give a gift, visit missionsfoundation.org
