Cliff Duren is the new Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church Dallas. He was formerly at FBC Woodstock, Georgia. He also served in several different worship-leading roles across the eight campuses of Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood, TN.
In addition, Cliff is a songwriter, arranger, orchestrator, and producer of church music resources for various publishers and Christian artists. As a result, he is a guest speaker and clinician at multiple worship retreats and conferences each year. In 2017, Cliff composed his first film score for the Christian film, “Champion.” He has also recorded three instrumental albums featuring piano & orchestra and five albums as a vocal member of the trio, Overflow, alongside his wife, April, and vocalist, Heather Richardson. Cliff is a five-time Dove Award winner for his contributions in Christian music.
Cliff became a Christian at age seventeen and soon after pursued a music education degree from Shorter University in Rome, GA and a graduate degree in church music from Lee University in Cleveland, TN. He has recently earned a doctorate in worship studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. In March of 2002, Cliff married his college sweetheart, April. They reside in Sunnyvale and have four children.
