The Texas Baptist Pastor Relief Grant is a convention-wide effort to meet the needs of Texas Baptist churches by providing short-term financial support to bivocational and small church pastors who have experienced economic difficulties through the loss of employment or church salary as a result of the spread of the novel coronavirus COVID-19.
- The relief grant is intended to benefit bivocational and small church pastors who have experienced economic difficulties through the loss of employment or church salary as a result of COVID-19.
- Priority consideration will be given to senior pastors who have completed at least one year of service in their current ministry context.
- Financial support up to $1,000 may be provided up to 2 times depending on demonstrated economic difficulties and availability of funds.
- To ensure as many pastors as possible are able to be supported through this relief grant, pastors should apply only once, and applicants are only eligible to receive one grant.
- Pastors who meet all requirements are encouraged to submit an application to be considered for short-term financial support.
- A final determination of the taxable nature of this grant is forthcoming.
