Texas Baptists Communications welcomed Kalie Lowrie as their new director. Lowrie transitioned from her prior position as associate vice president for Communications and Alumni Engagement at Howard Payne University (HPU) early this spring.

“Texas Baptists is a beautiful convention of churches partnering together to faithfully live out the Great Commission and Great Commandment in our state. It's a blessing to be able to work with a talented team of communicators to tell that story and invite others to join this important work,” said Lowrie.

Prior to her time at Texas Baptists, Lowrie also served at Howard Payne University as the assistant vice president for Alumni Relations for three years.

She previously served in Texas Baptists Communications from 2013-2021 in several roles, including social media manager, publications manager, news director and associate director of communications. Lowrie also worked at Dallas Baptist University (DBU) in news and information.

“I am excited about the opportunity to return to Texas Baptists and help tell the story of what God is doing in and through our churches,” said Lowrie. “I look forward to connecting with church leaders through our communication channels and finding new ways to share stories of impact and transformation.”

Lowrie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from HPU and a Master of Arts in Communication from DBU. In 2020, she earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from DBU.

Joshua Minatrea, senior director of Resource Development, said he can’t think of anyone more uniquely qualified to serve Texas Baptists as communications director than Lowrie.

“Kalie will draw on her extensive experience and education, as well as her generational knowledge of Baptist life in Texas, to tell the wonderfully compelling Texas Baptists story with clarity and conviction,” said Minatrea. “Hers is a genuine desire to see churches equipped to reach the lost and live out the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. Local churches, ministry partners and ministry staff will be blessed by the compassionate heart and consummate professionalism with which Kalie serves.”

Strengthening a multiplying movement of churches to live out the Great Commandment and Great Commission in Texas and beyond.

The ministry of Texas Baptists is made possible by giving through the Texas Baptists Cooperative Program, Mary Hill Davis Offering® for Texas Missions, Texas Baptists Worldwide and Texas Baptist Missions Foundation. Thank you for your faithful and generous support.
