Since the launch of KingsCover Insurance Services on Nov. 1, 2025, over 350 churches have signed up and are collectively saving over $3M, resulting in a 25% return on investment for these churches in its first seven months. KingsCover was created in partnership with Texas Baptists leadership to provide affordable insurance that is adaptable to churches' needs.
KingsCover has now opened applications in 16 states, including Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
Steve Suffron, pastor of First Baptist Church Denison, said that since switching to KingsCover at the first of the year, the church has saved around $7,000 on insurance thus far.
“It has been a gift to see the insurance costs rolled back. Because of the faithfulness of our people to give and the savings we have received through KingsCover, we are able to utilize our budget for ministry purposes without worry of operating in the red,” said Suffron.
Suffron said when setting the church’s 2027 budget, they anticipate increasing ministry spending or allocating the money saved toward future building projects.
Ariel Martinez, lead pastor of Del Sol Church in El Paso, said that by switching to KingsCover in April, his church’s insurance coverage would increase, and the annual premium would decrease by over $13,000. He said the savings from KingsCover will enable them to do more ministry and outreach long-term.
“As we look to hire a few more staff and increase our budget for more strategic ministry next year, the savings with KingsCover will enable us to do more ministry and more outreach, not only for next year, but it frees up a lot of funds right now to address local needs like hunger relief, send more people on mission trips, buy more Bibles to give out to new believers in the church and so on,” said Martinez.
Martinez said he loves the idea of an insurer that facilitates churches helping other churches, and he appreciates that their insurance payments will help Kingdom work.
Texas Baptists Associate Executive Director Craig Christina said he knew KingsCover would save churches money, but he never imagined the savings would be so dramatic.
“Last week, a pastor heard his church's premiums were being reduced by $31,000, and their coverage was increasing. He literally wept over the phone with the KingsCover agent, he was so happy and understood the transformational impact these savings would have on their budget,” said Christina.
Christina shared that 19 churches that did not previously have insurance coverage now have coverage through KingsCover, and many have seen their coverage increase substantially. He said he is looking forward to seeing how fast the program grows over the summer.
John Murphy, senior vice president of KingsCover, shared that crime coverages are now available for churches.
