Cooperative Program

In October, Texas Baptists’ Office of Cooperative Program Ministry announced the winners of its 2024 Baptist Educators Serving Texans (B.E.S.T.) Award. 

Jacobson said he is excited about using the strategic mindset he has developed with church planting to create executable plans and share the impact of collaborative missions and ministries with convention churches across the state and beyond. 

The Texas Baptists Office of Cooperative Program Ministry announced recipients of its 2023 Baptist Educators Serving Texans (B.E.S.T.) Award on Thursday, Oct. 26.

Each of these top-tier educators are representative of thousands of our graduates who serve as “salt and light” in the public schools across Texas.

“These B.E.S.T. Award recipients serve as our representatives of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Texas public school system as the ‘salt of the earth’ and the ‘light of the world’"

"These ‘public school missionaries’ are being the presence of Christ to many who may never walk through the doors of a church.”

When Vaughn Ross, mission team member at First Baptist Church of Waxahachie, received word from Pastor Simon Mwangi in Nairobi, Kenya that the three-year drought in North-Central Kenya was transitioning from severe to acute, he reached out to his church and Texas Baptists for support.

This year, during Texas Baptists’ Annual Meeting in Waco, nine churches will be recognized for their Cooperative Program giving. Since 1925, the Cooperative Program has provided the fuel to fund missions work in Texas, the United States and around the world.
