Baylor University conveyed to Texas Baptists the deed for a parcel of land set to house the new 12,000-square-foot Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) building in a ceremony held Thursday, April 18, in Waco, TX.

The Baptist General Convention of Texas Executive Board heard remarks from Executive Director Julio Guarneri and convention President Ronny Marriott, reports from Texas Baptists ministries and ministry partners, and passed a handful of recommendations during its February meeting February 19-20 in Dallas, TX.

In his Monday evening address to the Baptist General Convention of Texas Executive Board during its February meeting, Executive Director Julio Guarneri spoke of trust in God, a renewed cross-cultural witness and a rallying of kingdom partnerships.

The result was a moving two-day conference in which church leaders and laity were urged to share Christ and show love with an intentional focus, as Texas Baptists director of Evangelism Leighton Flowers explained, on “the soul of the person you are with.”

Julio Guarneri, Texas Baptists executive director, kicked off the Statewide Evangelism Conference Sunday evening at Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio with a message on building bridges and bypassing barriers to share the gospel. 

Church leaders and laypersons alike will have another opportunity to be equipped and encouraged to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Julio Guarneri began his time of service as executive director of Texas Baptists with an all-staff luncheon hosted by the First Baptist Church in Garland, TX, on Thursday, Nov. 30.

“Our church feels challenged to call out the called. That is my heart,” said Ronny Marriott, pastor of First Baptist Church Burleson.

The September meeting of the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) Executive Board was held Sept. 18-19 in Dallas.
