The Hispanic Evangelism Team of Texas Baptists will host the Hispanic Evangelism Conference at First Baptist Church of Corpus Christi on Nov. 8-9. The event will begin at 7 p.m. on Nov. 8 and conclude at 2 p.m. on Nov. 9.

Texas Baptists Hispanic Ministries will host its sixth-annual Hispanic Leadership Conference at Dallas Baptist University (DBU) from Oct. 25-26.

Conclave, a one-stop conference for various family ministries hosted by Texas Baptists Great Commission Team, will take place Oct. 14-16 at First Baptist Richardson.

Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary and the Kyle Lake Center for Effective Preaching, in partnership with Texas Baptists African American Ministries, will host the National African American Preaching Conference on Sept. 24-26.

Texas Baptist Men is preparing a response to provide disaster relief to those impacted by the destruction in the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian. Currently, TBM partners have assessors working in the Bahamas to determine the best ways to provide aid.

TBM deployed its first wave of disaster relief volunteers toward the Atlantic Coast on Sept. 3 to better respond to needs in the wake of Hurricane Dorian.

Jimmy Allen, a former president of the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) and former director of the Texas Baptist Christian Life Commission (CLC), died Tuesday, Jan. 8, at his home in Georgia. He was 91.

WACO—George W. Truett Theological Seminary and Texas Baptists have entered into a collaborative agreement between Truett Seminary’s Online Certificate Program and the Texas Baptists Preschool & Children’s Certification Program in order to create a Joint Certificate Program that will provide students with the opportunity to earn an Advanced Certificate of Ministry.
