Serving amidst hardship in Africa
For 32 years, International Mission Board (IMB) missionary Cole Ethridge has served the people of Africa through war, genocide and political unrest. He has seen political insurrection and terrorist attacks. He has faced armed robbers and ministered to Christians who faced religious persecution. For a while, he even lived on the street so that he could share Christ with the poor and homeless.
Ethridge remained faithful while he was evacuated during a rebel attack and survived both cancer and a meningitis epidemic. In 2020, he ministered in unique ways during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many years ago, Ethridge had prayed that God would not send him to Africa. But God had a special mission for him there, and he is glad that he was obedient.

Durante 32 años, Cole Ethridge, misionero con la Junta de Misiones Internacionales (IMB), ha servido a las personas en África en medio de guerra, genocidio, y agitación política. Él ha sido testigo de rebelión y ataques terroristas. Él ha enfrentado robo a mano armada y ministrado a cristianos enfrentando persecución religiosa. Durante un tiempo, hasta vivió en la calle para poder compartir a Cristo con los pobres y sin hogar.
Ethridge permaneció fiel al ser evacuado durante un ataque de rebeldes y sobrevivió el cáncer y una epidemia de meningitis. En 2020, él ministró de maneras particulares durante la pandemia del COVID-19.
Hace muchos años, Ethridge le pidió a Dios en oración que no lo enviara a África. Pero, Dios tenía una misión especial para él allí, y él se alegró al ser obediente.
