“I Think We Like Each Other, Now What?” When friendship turns into something more, the idea of dating can be exciting and confusing all at the same time. You hear a lot of “advice” from parents to friends to spiritual directors to social media influencers. Do they even understand what it’s like to date in the modern world? What does God say? How can your dating relationship honor and glorify God? Join Sharla Knippa as we explore the framework for connecting to Christ through dating.
Presented by Carlos Francis, Director of Young Adults at Texas Baptists
Many churches today are challenged with connecting with young adults. Concerns about having only a small number of young adults, or none at all, in the church, have churches fearing their mortality. This session will focus on helping churches develop an evangelism and discipleship strategy for young adults.
Presented by Jennifer Gonzalez, LPC, NCC, Waypoints Counseling, PLLC
Crisis is a word most of us fear and seek to avoid in life. Whether financial, relational, health-related, or perhaps even a natural disaster or accident that was no fault of our own, experiencing a crisis is inevitable. Fortunately, God has given us many examples of how believers should respond in the midst of crisis. Join us as we explore both the opportunity and danger that exists for believers when they experience a hard and sometimes agonizing situation.
Presented by Robert Purvey, Director of Partner Strategies for Tenx10, NextGen strategist for Texas Baptists
This Session will give churches tools, techniques and strategies to engage and implement young adults into leadership positions within the fabric of the church. If the church wants more young adults to be involved, then young adults must see themselves being represented in the church and know they have a voice that is heard. Young adults should be the church of today, not just looked at as the church of tomorrow.
Presented by Daniel Dominguez, Pastor of Community Heights Church
This discussion panel is a structured conversation that will bring together church leaders to share their perspective on the challenges and concerns of young adults and how the church can support and champion Young Adult Ministry as the church of today.
Presented by Eric Hernandez, Apologetics Lead & Millennial Specialist at Texas Baptists
There are dominant strongholds (i.e., worldviews) that permeate our culture and hinder people from coming to a salvific knowledge of God. In this session, you will learn what they are, how to identify them and how to respond accordingly.
A Q&A will follow.
