As we approach the Texas Baptists Annual Meeting, Nov. 16-18 in Abilene, TX, we are anticipating the opportunity to explore our theme: “Live Out GC2: Love God, Love People, Make Disciples.”
This last week has been filled with so many emotions. In regard to ministry, I have had the opportunity of participating in several joyful celebrations. I have also navigated with staff and church leaders the tense moments our country is experiencing.
Conclave NextGen returns to Arlington; looks forward to a “family reunion” of ministers, time for rest and investment in ministry, partnering with churches "in a tangible way.”
On October 18, the Texas Baptists Office of Theological Education & Institutional Engagement will host their first Higher Education Fair at Churchill Baptist Church in San Antonio, where parents, students and church leaders will learn from workshops, hear from keynote speaker Fabian Ramírez, an anti-bullying speaker and motivational comedian, and visit with representatives from nine Texas Baptists universities and colleges and the San Marcos Baptist Academy.
In July, the Texas Baptist Missions Foundation (TBMF) announced that it had officially met the requirements of the Mabee Foundation Challenge Grant, awarded in July 2024, toward the construction of the new Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) building at Baylor University.
Wednesday, Sept. 10, TBMF held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new BSM building.
