Texas Baptists have partnered with GuideStone to launch a landing page with health insurance resources for pastors, ministers and church staff. According to a study conducted by Texas Baptists in 2018, only 24% of pastors have health coverage through their church, while small church pastors are 60% less likely to have health coverage than large church pastors.

“We know the reality that many of our pastors face in having to find healthcare coverage for their families, and the healthcare market can be difficult to navigate,” said Tammy Tervooren, director of the Ministers Financial Health team.

Texas Baptists has partnered with GuideStone to help alleviate some of the stress associated with finding the right medical plan by providing a landing page. The page includes a helpful video covering four common health care strategies, downloadable resources, special open enrollment information and access to a GuideStone representative.

“Here at GuideStone, we believe a healthy body of Christ is free to transform the world. Our mission as an insurance team is to make sure your most valuable ministry assets, your staff and your church, are protected so you can fulfill your ministry calling. We are excited to partner alongside our Texas Baptists churches in providing this educational information.” said Jordan Puskos, GuideStone New Business Manager, said. “Healthcare is an important aspect of financial health. We’re excited to be able to offer additional tools and resources to help pastors, ministers, and churches find the right healthcare strategy.”
