Providing relief and the gospel in West Africa
Wesley and Emily Smyth have served with the International Mission Board (IMB) in several West African countries. Currently based in Senegal, on the continent’s Atlantic coast, they direct the Send Relief program for the region.
Send Relief, a collaboration between the IMB and the North American Mission Board (NAMB), works to meet physical needs around the world while sharing the hope of the gospel. West Africa, in particular, is a poor region, in which people are largely dependent on cyclical and often uncertain rains for crops.
The Smyths, who have four children – three born in three different West African nations – also host a house church. The services in their home are regularly attended by people from nine different nations.
