Kimberly Bogart began studying at Howard Payne University anticipating a life-changing academic experience. However, while at HPU, the senior mathematics major made the life-altering decision to follow Christ and has continued her spiritual journey through involvement in the Baptist Student Ministry (BSM).
She arrived at HPU sure of her choice to attend, but also hesitant to join a campus community that is strongly rooted in Christ. Through a friendship with a senior HPU student and an influential professor, Bogart became a Christian during her freshman year and soon got involved with the BSM.
“I realized God was working in my life and I just hadn’t been paying attention,” she said.
Since then, she has gone on numerous mission trips and has served in multiple ministries facilitated by the BSM. As her college journey and maturing in faith continues, the community offered by the BSM remains a source of growth and encouragement.
“In hard times, I know I can always call on someone in the BSM and they’ll immediately be praying for me and caring for me.”
When our church gives through the Cooperative Program, we support Howard Payne University and other Baptist schools as they provide a strong Christian community for college students. Let’s pray for the BSM and other ministries at Howard Payne that are shaping the next generation of leaders.
