Clarkston, a small city in Georgia east of Atlanta, has one of the highest concentrations of refugees in North America. Lorna Bius, a North American Mission Board (NAMB) missionary, serves among the refugees.
Bius welcomes refugees and ensures that their needs are met. She helps them obtain food, a place to live and other basic needs. While she is ministering to them, she emulates Christ’s love and compassion for them. She shares Jesus through both her words and her deeds.
In addition to helping refugees personally, Bius also arranges for volunteer teams from around the United States to come minister to the refugees in Clarkston.
Many of these refugees will stay in Clarkston, but some will move to other states or cities. Regardless of where they will end up, Bius ensures that during their time in Clarkston, they will encounter Christ’s love.
When our church gives through the Cooperative Program, we support Bius and her ministry to refugees. Let’s pray for Bius as she shares Christ with refugees from around the world.
