Unlike other youth summer programs that take place across Texas, Super Summer is a unique camp geared towards students who have already accepted the Lord. It is a school of evangelism, designed to encourage students to better know and share the Gospel.
Students spend over six hours each day learning, praying and worshipping. It is an opportunity for Christian students from across the state to come together to worship and learn. During summer 2019, a total of 2,457 students participated in Super Summer across six week-long sessions. These sessions took place at five university campuses around Texas.
Brooke, a student from First Baptist Willis, has participated in Super Summer since she was an incoming eighth-grader. Even after five years of attendance, she still left her 2019 Super Summer feeling refreshed and reinvigorated.
“It brings you together with other people who have the same mindset as you. When you’re around those people, it makes you even stronger in what you believe,” Brooke said. “So coming to Super Summer, it brings you that faith that regenerates you to go back to your hometown and spread the Gospel with other people and other students your age.”
Our church’s contributions through the Cooperative Program help make Super Summer possible. Join me in praying for the students that participated in Super Summer this year and for the students preparing to go next summer.
