BOUNCE Student Disaster Recovery is known across Texas for its disaster relief ministry, providing aid to areas that have been hit by devastating storms and natural disasters. In addition to providing invaluable physical help to hurting communities, this Texas Baptists Ministry of junior high and high school students is expanding to provide spiritual recovery as well.
This year, BOUNCE launched its first church planting week in Dallas, where students helped three churches. Large volunteer groups can give new church plants the manpower to accomplish events and outreach that they would not be able to do alone.
Participating students gain valuable ministry training and experiences throughout this week-long church planting program. David Scott, BOUNCE director, explained that getting students involved in ministry is essential.
“We want to cultivate a love for mission service and ministry in the lives of students, and we know one of the most significant and important ways you can do that is through hands-on mission experiences,” he said.
The tools students gain from the BOUNCE experience sets them up for a lifetime of passion for mission work.
When our church gives through the Cooperative Program, ministries like BOUNCE Student Disaster Recovery are able to train more students and do more for the community. Join me in praying for BOUNCE students and leaders as they continue to show Christ’s love through service.
