The Texas Baptists Missions Team is excited to announce that two of their current staff members will be stepping into new leadership roles.

“We know the Lord Jesus and how he spent his time helping people. We want to do the same for others.”

An active Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) member and leader on her campus, Aquino felt drawn to missions in Mexico City so she could develop her understanding of a culture that is also found on her campus.

“We never run out… In fact, in the first three or four weeks of starting here, God taught me this is His ministry, not mine, and I just need to keep it open and He’ll provide the rest.”

In the fall of 2018, Tarleton State University senior Garrett Kirchner felt God begin to call him to college ministry. With his graduation nearing in December of that year, Kirchner prayed that God would show him where to go and how to get there.

During the 2019 Texas Baptists Annual Meeting, nine churches were given special recognition for their giving through the Cooperative Program.

More than 2,000 participants in-person and online witnessed the launch of Faith Fosters Texas at the 2019 Texas Baptists Annual Meeting Nov. 17-19.

Phillip Nation, director of Advancement and Global Impact Churches at the Baptist World Alliance (BWA), started his Tuesday morning workshop at 2019 Texas Baptists Annual Meeting by posing a question. “What would it look like to create a culture for global disciple-making?” he asked.

Victor Rodriguez encouraged pastors to “let the seeds fly” in his sermon during the closing worship session on Tuesday of the 2019 Texas Baptists Annual Meeting.
