The Texas Baptist Christian Life Commission is pleased to announce their public policy priorities for the 86th Texas Legislative Session.

“Our Commissioners chose these priorities because we believe they reflect a commitment to the time-honored Baptist principles of religious liberty, care for the poor, and the common good. We will be praying both for our CLC staff and our elected officials as they seek to improve the lives of all Texans,” said Dr. Jacob West, chair of the Texas Baptist Christian Life Commission.

“Our priorities this session include: supporting an increase in public school funding, protecting religious liberty, improving re-entry for formerly incarcerated, supporting pro-life legislation, and improving access to healthcare for low-income mothers. We look forward to working in a bipartisan manner with Governor Abbott, Lieutenant Governor Patrick, Speaker Bonnen, and other members of the Texas Legislature in a bipartisan manner to improve the lives of Texas Baptists and our neighbors,” said Dr. Gus Reyes, director of the Texas Baptist Christian Life Commission.
